Policy 3: Equipment/Jersey Deposit (UPDATED 2025)

POLICY 3: EQUIPMENT/JERSEY DEPOSIT

Purpose:
To ensure players and teams are responsible for the proper care and timely return of jerseys and/or equipment to the Equipment Director.

3.01 The Lakeland Lacrosse Association (LLA) provides each team with one set of jerseys for regular season games. These jerseys remain the property of LLA. A $200 deposit cheque is required from the designated jersey parent to ensure return of the full set at season’s end. Jerseys must be cleaned according to instructions and are to be HANG DRY ONLY. When available, use the partnerships LLA has made with local cleaning companies to wash and dry the jerseys.

3.02 Goalie equipment is issued to players who commit to the position for their team. The goalie’s parent/guardian must submit a $300 equipment deposit cheque. This deposit will be refunded or destroyed once the equipment is returned clean and in good condition by the specified return date.

Note: The $300 goalie and $300 jersey deposits are in addition to the $300 volunteer bond.

3.03 For teams with multiple goalies sharing equipment, the entire team is collectively responsible for the care, management, and return of the goalie gear, including the deposit.

3.04 All goalie equipment must be returned to the Equipment Coordinator no later than July 15th.

No exceptions will be made unless pre-approved by the Equipment Director. This ensures time for cleaning, repairs, and preparation for the next season.

3.05 Players wishing to lease goalie equipment for the Winter Lacrosse League must contact the Equipment Director in advance. Equipment may be rented for up to $100, depending on duration of use. A signed agreement will be required, stating that the player/parent agrees to pay the replacement cost or $1,500 (whichever is greater) if the equipment is not returned or is abused. The written agreement must also specify the equipment return date before the next regular season.

3.06 The purchase of goalie gear and repairs must be approved by the Lakeland Board.
